Lotta Lysaya Burton, Artistic Director

Lysaya Dance Ensemble's artistic director for the past 4 years, Lotta Lysaya Burton, has added countless new dances to the school's repertoire, expanding the school's horizons and teaching the performers new styles of dancing.

Lotta has an extensive history in both dancing professionally and teaching. In Russia, she danced world dances and taught dance to children. When she immigrated to America, she worked at Arthur Murray, the U.S.'s largest ballroom school, and won many competitions around America with her students. Later, Lotta started her own private ballroom dance school. In 1995, she became partners with her mother Roza Lysaya, and began to run the Lysaya Dance Ensemble. It is because of her rare talent for teaching and communicating with children, as well as her unusual and diverse background in various forms of dance that she has led the Lysaya Dance Ensemble to such successes as its artistic director over the past 4 years.
